Sarah is an accomplished harpist who
provides an exceptional service for special occasions where her warm and
harmonious music creates a magical atmosphere. Sarah has played the harp
for over 40 years and has many years of professional musical experience
and has in fact worked with some of the most famous names in the industry.
For Sarah it was love at first sight when she saw her first harp. As a
very young girl, she was taken to rehearsals with her father when he led
the London Symphony Orchestra. She immediately fell in love with the sound
of the harp and her passion hasn't waned since! Sarah was awe struck by
it's classic, regal beauty and her heart went out to the charming, gentle
almost surreal sound. The harp still has a soothing effect on listeners
and players today and Sarah admits she gets withdrawal symptoms if she
doesn't play for a few days.
Sarah won a scholarship to the Royal Academy
of Music at 17. having gained experience in London and Paris she mastered
her favourite instrument and became a part of the Royal Ballet Touring
Orchestra for 13 years, the next ten years saw her supporting many famous
musicals on the West End such as Evita, 42nd Street, Sound of Music and
Me and My Girl.
Sara enjoys playing the harp and feels privileged to be
a part of someone's happy day. Her passion for music encompasses early
classics, folk, pop and swing and golden oldies for those nostalgic moments.
Sara is flexible and happy to discuss any special requests for a specific
occasion.
