Fiona is a classically trained harpist
with a BA honours degree from the University of York, and postgraduate
performance diploma from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She now
has a varied career playing for many leading orchestras and chamber ensembles,
such as the Philharmonia and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Fiona is principle harp with the National Symphony Orchestra, who regularly
tour with the renowned mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins. Fiona has also
recorded and performed with pop and rock groups, including Morcheeba, Kanye
West and Procol Harum.
Over the last few years, Fiona was a member of the
orchestra for some of best known shows from the West End and the Royal
National Theatre. These include ‘My Fair Lady’, ‘His
Dark Materials’, ‘The Producers’ and ‘A Little
Night Music’.
As a soloist, Fiona plays regularly at prestigious
events held for royalty, heads of state and corporate clients. These include
Prince Charles, Baroness Thatcher and Tony Blair. Fiona is equally at home
as a jazz player, and her double bass and harp duo ‘B Sharp’ can
provide an unusual alternative to a solo harp at your event.
